Engineer falls to death from Tardeo building

A 23-year-old man from Kalbadevi died after falling from the 13th floor of a building in Tardeo on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Firoz Furdehi.

Furdehi worked as an engineer with Larsen & Tubro. The Tardeo police are investigating if it was a case of suicide.

Ramesh Gadade, senior inspector, Tardeo police station, said: "Furdehi lived near the Parsi dairy in Kalbadevi. On Tuesday afternoon, he went to the 13th floor of Janta Nagar Co-operative Housing Society and a few hours later his body was found."

Gadade said they were investigating whether Furdehi fell down from the building or whether he jumped. The police have registered a case of accidental death.

"The deceased was unmarried and was living with his parents," said Gadade. "No suicide note was found from the spot. We will be recording the statement of his family and colleagues to find out if he was under any kind of stress that could have driven him to commit suicide."

The officer said they were also trying to find if there were any eyewitnesses.
