This weekend, a city-based non-profit organisation, the Praja foundation, will be launching the first volume of its handbook for the 145 first-time corporators elected in February's civic polls.

The volume, which is free of cost, will have background on the civic body, insights into the various civic acts and citizens' issues, and an in-depth analysis of the available devices for raising questions and addressing grievances.

The foundation plans to reach out to the corporators and undertake training sessions. "A representative will attend a ward committee meeting to answer questions and discuss ward-specific issues," said Milind Mhaske, project director of the foundation.
