HC dismisses petition of sr citizen who claims to own airport land

The petition, filed by Edward Paul Machado, 82, challenged the validity of a notice by the eviction officer of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), evicting him from the property.

A division bench of justice SA Bobde and justice RD Dhanuka rejected Machado’s plea after finding that he had allegedly gotten favourable entries made through manipulation in revenue records pertaining to the land.

“Litigants, who resort false and fabricated entries in their favour are not entitled to any protection,” the judges said, while rejecting Machado’s challenge to the eviction notice.

Machado, who claims ownership over the property by adverse possession, contended that Nagpal had no authority to issue him the eviction notice.
The AAI contended the senior citizen was in unauthorised possession of the property.
