Mumbai: 18-year-old arrested for rash driving

The Malad police, on Sunday, arrested an 18-year-old collegian after he injured three persons while rashly driving his four-wheeler at Malad (West) on Saturday night. HT reports.

The Malad police, on Sunday, arrested an 18-year-old collegian after he injured three persons while rashly driving his four-wheeler at Malad (West) on Saturday night.

Police said the incident took place around 8pm at Ramabai Marg near Liberty Garden where the motorist, identified as Harsh Mehta, was speeding in his Maruti Swift.

The police said the lane where the incident took place is congested and Mehta lost control of his car and hit two women standing there. He also injured a man who was walking near the pavement.

The three identified as Amruta Bivadkar, Savita Kanojia and Amit Kamble sustained minor injuries, the police said.

Mehta had his driving licence and was not under the influence of alcohol, the police said.
