No casualty was reported, a BMC official said on Sunday, adding, "the fire was extinguished after 3.30 am."
"Six fire engines were rushed to the spot after fire brigade got a call around 11:30 pm that a fire has broken out in a closed military canteen adjacent to Dockyard Road station in South Mumbai," the official said.
Asked about cause of fire, he said it is being ascertained.
"We have information that packaging material at the spot caught fire and it spread rapidly," he said.
