Mumbaicha Raja 2012 declared in online contest

Lalbaug’s Tejukaya Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was declared as Mumbaicha Raja this year in an online competition on Friday. Mugdha Variyar reports

Lalbaug’s Tejukaya Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal was declared as Mumbaicha Raja this year in an online competition on Friday.

The website, www.mumbaicharaja.com, was started in 2008 and several city mandals have been registering for the competition. This year, more than 120 city mandals registered, and a total of 11.44 lakh votes were received through SMSes and on the website. The winning Lalbaug mandal received 46,952 votes, as shown on the website.
