Despite physiotherapy and occupational therapy students now graduating with a degree instead of a diploma, the recruitment rules in government hospitals have not been upgraded, said Dr Vidya Depgunde, general secretary, Maharashtra Association of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

The students are also demanding that post-graduate students at Government Medical College, Nagpur, be paid a stipend for working as therapists in government hospitals.
