Lal Bahadur Shreto (55), a BPT porter, was cycling back home after his duty hours on Friday when the incident occurred.
Shreto was passing through the four ID dock when a 150 tonne iron bundle fell on him from the trailer. The trailer was being unloaded under the supervision of Singh. Shreto was crushed underneath. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
“Singh fled from the spot. We have booked him for negligence as the trailer was being unloaded under his supervision,” said Assistant Sub Inspector S Kadam.
