The lakes supplying water to the city have seen an increase of 34,000 million litres, equivalent to 11 days’ supply of water.

Civic officials said the water stock in the six lakes is about 86,000 million litres on Saturday. The city requites about 3 million litres of water a day. This is significant as the increase in water stock during the same period last year was close to nil because of a delayed monsoon.

The officials added there was no decision to withdraw the 15 per cent water cut that was imposed earlier this year due to limited water stock in the lakes. “We will take a review soon about water cuts,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner Anil Diggikar.
