The drive, which the party has termed as mahayagna, will be held at Goregaon on Sunday, April 25.

“There will be state-of-the-art preparations and international norms will be followed for the blood donation drive,” a Sena spokesperson said.

Each of the party’s 227 shakha pramukhs will get donors from their respective areas to achieve the target.

The Sena intends to enter record books by collecting 25,000 bottles of blood and has also booked flights to various parts of states so that blood can be transferred quickly where it is needed.

“Uddhavji will be the first one to donate his blood tomorrow and we have made elaborate arrangements to collect thousands of bottles of blood simultaneously,” the party spokesperson said.

The Shiv Sena has also organised a musical programme on May 1.

Singer Lata Mangeshkar and her family will attend the event, which is expected to draw a crowd of at least one lakh.
