A case of death due to negligence was registered against Jaslok hospital after the death of Deepti Makhijani, who was undergoing treatment for blood cancer at the hospital. Makhijani's family alleged she died after hospital staff used the wrong blood group for a transfusion. However, doctors at the hospital have cited septicemia as the cause of death. “We will look at the reply and give them an opportunity to present the case. I will mostly decide on this issue next week,” said PR Uttarwar, joint commissioner, FDA.
