Taloja jail inmate found dead
An inmate of Taloja jail was found hanging from a ceiling hook in the washroom inside the jail premises on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Tukaram Yashwant Khodge (65).

An inmate of Taloja jail was found hanging from a ceiling hook in the washroom inside the jail premises on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Tukaram Yashwant Khodge (65).
A case of accidental death has been registered. Khodge had been convicted under section 498 (A) (husband subjecting a woman to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was reportedly sent to the jail just three days ago.
Around 4.30 pm, he reportedly told the guard that he wanted to go to the washroom. When he did not return for a long time, the jail guard broke open the washroom door and found hi m dead. Khodge was tense because his wife was planning to file more cases against him, said the police.
