Dharamsen Yadav , 43, was allegedly speeding. He lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the divider, crashing into the water tanker and bike on the opposite lane.

An officer from Chembur police station, talking on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to talk to the media said: “The accident took place at the Amar Mahal Junction at Chembur between 6.30 am to 7 am. Yadav driving the milk delivery tempo was going towards Thane at a high speed. As he reached Amar Mahal Junction, he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the divider and hit a tanker plying on the other side. The tempo then hit a biker, injuring him severely.”

He added: “The locals took the biker, Ikhlaq Ahmed Irshad Ali (27), a resident of Govandi, to Rajawadi Hospital where he was declared dead. Ali was on his way to south Mumbai on his Hero Honda CD 100 bike. He worked at the Four Seasons hotel in Worli.
