The police said after the offence was registered on Wednesday night, they started questioning locals close to the Kalbadevi branch of the bank. However, there have been no leads on the accused yet.
"We are looking for eyewitnesses or people who would have possibly seen the accused board her taxi or had heard her cry for help. We spoke to several hawkers and locals. However, there have been no leads yet," said an officer from the LT Marg police station.
The police said the victim, in her statement, said that she was talking to her husband, Nirmal, a businessman, over the phone after boarding the Maruti Omni cab when the accused duo barged in.
The two men brandished choppers and threatened Shah with dire consequences if she tried to raise an alarm. Instead of driving the cab towards CP Tank area, where Shah had initially directed the driver to go, the driver went towards Chitra theatre in Dadar.
"We will check the CCTV footage of all the areas including Kalbadevi, Metro Junction and the route via Chitra theatre to Matunga where she was abandoned to get leads on the accused," said the official.
