According to Malad police, Hansa Singh was upset with her husband for allegedly having an extramarital affair with his college friend for the past four years.

Police learnt that the couple used to fight very often over the affair and have booked the husband Kunwar Singh, in-laws Kishan and Roopmani Singh and brother-in-law for abetment to suicide.

Police said Hansa locked herself in the bathroom on Thursday evening and used a nylon rope to hang herself from the shower panel hook. After a while, Kunwar knocked on the door but did not get any response. “Kunwar informed the police who came and broke down the bathroom door. She was found hanging,” said police inspector Chandrakant Gurav, Malad police station.

Police is now waiting to take statements from Hansa’s relatives. Currently, police have registered a case of accidental death in the matter.
