1D fails to make it to Academy Awards shortlist again

One Direction may have ruled the charts in 2014 but looks like critical voices don't think much of them. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced their 79 shortlisted artists and ignored the four-member band's work.

The Academy recently announced their 79 shortlisted artists and ignored the four-member band's hit like Story Of My Life and Midnight Memories from their movie Where We Are, the Daily Star reported.

A source asserted that One Direction was very disappointed and upset at being overlooked for a second year in a row as their music from the movie were hits across the world, and especially Story Of My Life, which was one of the greatest tracks of 2013.
