Jassi Sidhu’s tribute: Why did Govinda spoil it for us?

Jassi Sidhu’s new single ‘Dance like Govinda’ banks on the Dulaara star’s dancing skills. While the video has a nostalgic feel about it – with references to ‘Sarkai lo khatiya’ and ‘What is mobile number’ – the appearance of the star himself doesn’t help. You realise that he can’t do it anymore. Or, maybe, he just doesn’t want to.

The video, a throwback tribute to the actor’s dashing moves in the 90s and early 2000s, seems to be driving both celebrities and the Twitterati crazy. Everybody who’s a somebody in the celeb world – from Punjabi pop stars Honey Singh and Mika Singh to actress Sophie Choudhary and cricketer Harbhajan Singh’s wife Geeta Basra – has shared the video on Twitter.
