The woman was rescued on Friday evening after army personnel reached her village.

“Our men immediately swung into action and began the rescue work to take her out alive. It took two hours to bring her out alive. It was difficult to take her to a safer point as her leg was broken. In the absence of a proper stretcher they had to prepare a makeshift one to carry the victim to the nearest helipad – around three kilometres away via one of the most hostile terrains in the area – and then to take her to the nearest hospital,” informed the PRO defence (Lucknow) Gargi Malik Sinha while speaking to HT.
