KANPUR: Over a dozen petty vendors have “shocked” the income tax department here by disclosing income amounting to around Rs 60 crore under Income Disclosure Scheme (IDS) by the income tax department. Sources said the petty vendors included sellers of chhat, samosa, lassi and chola/ bhatura. Most of them carry out their business in temporary kiosks. “Many of these vendors are mostly illiterate… It is for the first time that they have disclosed their income,” said an I-T official.
