LUCKNOW: Traders here have decided to boycott China-made crackers, candles, idols and lights this Diwali to protest China’s act of blocking a tributary of the Brahmaputra and vetoing India’s move to declare Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar a terrorist. The Akhil Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Madal would also burn a ‘Holika’ of Chinese goods on October 7 to kickstart a campaign against the sale of Chinese items. To garner support, the traders have circulated WhatsApp messages and contacted each other through other platforms.
