Parking facilities at six Noida Metro stations to begin by March-end
These stations are — National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), Sector 83, Sector 143, Sector 144, Sector 145 and Sector 146. The NMRC has already started parking facilities at 10 other Metro stations.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Tuesday said it would start parking facilities at six Metro stations on Aqua Line by March end.
These stations are — National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), Sector 83, Sector 143, Sector 144, Sector 145 and Sector 146. The NMRC has already started parking facilities at 10 other Metro stations.
“The parking facility will help those who want to park their vehicles at the stations and ride the Metro to their respective destinations. We aim to start parking facilities at all Metro stations as and when we get the space. As of now, we are developing parking facilities at these six stations,” said a Metro spokesperson.
The 10 Metro stations where parking facility is already available since March 4 are Sectors —51, 76, 81, 101, 137, 142, Knowledge Park, Pari Chowk, Alpha-1 and Delta metro stations.
The NMRC has already fixed parking tariff applicable for the parking facilities. Four wheelers owners would be required to pay ₹20 for the initial six hours and ₹10 for every additional two hours. The maximum fee for a day is fixed at ₹40 and monthly fee at ₹800. For two-wheelers, owners will be charged for the initial six hours, ₹5 for every additional two hours, ₹20 maximum per day and ₹400 for a month.
On January 26, 2019, the NMRC had started operations on the 29.7km long Aqua Line to connect Noida with Greater Noida. However, it has been unable to provide parking facilities at all the 21 stations to passengers, who want to park their vehicles at the stations and ride the Metro to travel to areas in Delhi-NCR.
Parking facilities at remaining five stations, namely, Sectors — 78, 147, 153, 149 and Alpha-2 Metro station. Officials said Metro would offer parking facilities in these station within a few months
The Noida authority had first time identified the land for parking facilities in January 2016 at all Metro stations and also handed over 57,000 square metre land to NMRC.
