Trade fair for pets in Noida salutes bravery of four-legged friends

Dogs from the small Maltese and Pugs to the mighty Dogo Argentinos, Boxers, Labradors, Rottweilers and German Shepherds participated in different activities and competitions

Contrary to the general perception that Delhi-NCR is not animal friendly, the 9th India-International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) - 2017, held at the Expocentre in Noida, was proof that NCR is home to animal lovers.

Dogs from the small Maltese and pugs to the mighty Dogo Argentinos, boxers, Labradors, Rottweilers and German shepherds participated in different activities and competitions along with their human parents in the three-day event that concluded on Sunday.

Even those who came to merely enjoy the pet fair had a great time feasting their eyes on the antics of these animals. The pet fair was organised by pet care magazine, Creature Companion, under the aegis of LB Associated (Pvt) Ltd.

The third and final day of the pet fair extravaganza was a day full of fun and adventure for pets and pet parents alike. Traders and pet lovers thronged the exhibition in thousands and had plenty of reasons to leave a happy lot.

There were special events for pets, in which both dogs and owners were participated, including WhatsPup- Pet and Me, Flea Market, Dog Park, Best Dressed Star Dog, Happy Tails Groom Your Dog, Meet Expert Dog Trainer and Canine Cafe- Puppy Chino.

Events such as best pet parent, dog-training, first-to-finish their meal and race with pet parent were also held as part of the fair.

At the valedictory function of fair on Sunday, mLoyal Award was distributed to brave dogs who laid down their lives trying to save their owners.

The awards were given posthumously to the hearts Rocky,the Doberman, that saved his family from four cobras; Jackie, the Indie, that fought a tiger fearlessly to save its master; and Breeze,who saved four kittens stuck in a car trunk. Breeze recently died of liver failure.

Kallu, a Doberman and Rottweiler mix, was also given the award for finding a snake that was in the owner’s car.
