A two-month-old boy went missing from outside his house in Vijay Nagar and is believed to have been abducted by unidentified persons. Teams of the Ghaziabad police have started investigations and have also launched a search to find the missing boy.

The infant went missing from his house at Bagu in Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad on Monday afternoon. The boy’s mother Payal had given him a bath and left him on a ‘charpoi’ just outside the house. She returned after a couple of minutes to find the infant missing.

“I went in just for two minutes. The boy was clothed in a woollen outfit and wrapped in a shawl. I had put him in the sun as he was not keeping well for the past few days. When I returned, I was shocked to see the empty bed. I search everywhere but he is not to be found. I think someone took him away,” she said.

The boy’s father Sandeep Kumar, upon hearing the news, returned from his daily wage work and found that the locals and the police had already launched a search in a densely populated locality. The locals suspect that some animal may have taken away the infant but the police refuted this theory.

“The woollen clothes he was wrapped in were found. But my son is missing. I have searched for him everywhere and his mother is in deep shock. He is my second child and was born just two months ago. I have filed a police complaint,” Sandeep said.

The couple also has a two-year-old son. Bagu in Vijay Nagar is a densely populated locality near the NH-24. Hundreds of locals also arrived at the house of the aggrieved parents and shared their sympathies with them.

“We have roped in our personnel and have launched search for the missing boy. As of now, he has not been found. The parents have not received any ransom call. We have registered a case and a search is on to find the missing boy,” said Akash Tomar, superintendent of police (city).
