Gala sports awards night in Mumbai on November 11
The jury for the sports awards event comprises Pullela Gopichand, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha, Anjali Bhagwat, Arjun Halappa and Sanjiv Goenka
It promises to be a red-carpet evening for Indian sportspersons where kabaddi star Pardeep Narwal could share the spotlight with Ravichandran Ashwin, S Kidambi, Mithali Raj, Pankaj Advani and Anil Kumble.

The first Indian Sports Honours, organised by the RP-SG Group and Virat Kohli Foundation, will be held in Mumbai on November 11, it was announced at a media conference by Sanjiv Goenka, chairman RP-SG Group, here on Wednesday.
The awards would be given in 17 categories, including five in popular choice list.

Announced on Wednesday, the jury comprises national badminton coach Pulella Gopichand, ace shooter Anjali Bhagwat, sprint queen PT Usha, Davis Cup captain Mahesh Bhupathi and former India hockey captain Arjun Halappa. Goenka and Gopichand would chair the jury, according to a media release.


Kohli’s scholarship
At the awards night, the Kohli foundation will also award scholarships worth a minimum of Rs. 2 crore to promising sportspersons, the release said.
The sportspersons’ shortlist was compiled by the Sports Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI) which, along with Ernst and Young, is the process advisors of the awards, according to the release.
