In the absence PR Sreejesh, ruled out due to knee injury, the Punjab international will also lead the 18-member squad at the Hockey World League Semifinals at London beginning June 15.

With Sreejesh out, Hockey India have selected Akash Chikte and Vikas Dahiya as goalkeepers. The team is training at Bengaluru and will leave for Europe on May 29.

Chief coach Roelant Oltmans continues to rotate players to build a strong squad for the 2018 season. For the European and World League, the Dutchman has included Ramandeep Singh, who was given a break for Azlan Shah Cup earlier this month.

Besides Ramandeep, other key players in the forward line include SV Sunil, Talwinder Singh, Mandeep Singh and Akashdeep Singh.
