Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat moved into the quarterfinals of the Macau Open badminton Grand Prix gold with contrasting victories over their Danish rivals on Thursday.

Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat moved into the quarterfinals of the Macau Open badminton Grand Prix gold with contrasting victories over their Danish rivals on Thursday.

Anand, seeded seventh, defeated Hans-Kristian Vittinghus 21-15, 21-15 and set up a clash with top seed and world No 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

Bhat, seeded 10th, faced stiff resistance from Jan O Joergensen before prevailing 21-13, 22-20. Joergensen had toppled some top players to reach the quarterfinals of the World Championship in Hyderabad last week.

Bhat will next face Malaysian fourth seed Choong Hann Wong.
