China's sports governing body said late on Thursday that the 26 year old Wang's conduct had violated the team's disciplinary code and jeopardized the sport's image.

She was suspended after the incident at a summer training camp in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao on July 24.

State run Xinhua News Agency says Wang punched team manager Wang Chunlu after being criticized for failing to meet a curfew after a night out with five teammates.

China's general administration of sport says male speed skater Liu Xianwei was also expelled for his role in the incident.
