Dinesh got the better of his opponent 17-7 after leading all through the bout. In the first round, the Indian was ahead 3-2 and by the end of the second round, he taken an unassailable 11-4 lead. “In the opening round when I scored three consecutive points, I knew I would win the bout,” he said.
“Dinesh dominated his opponent from the beginning. He made up for Jai Bhagwan's loss earlier in the day,” said chief national coach GS Sandhu. Asian championship silver-medallist Bhagwan (60kg) failed to break the pre-quarterfinal jinx yet again. He lost to Eugen Burhard of Germany 3-9.
