Andhra Pradesh's Somanth Ghosh beat local boy Ashwat Gogia 3-2 in Group I of the men's qualifying round in the National Ranking Table Tennis Championships (North Zone) at Yamuna Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

Andhra Pradesh's Somanth Ghosh beat local boy Ashwat Gogia 3-2 in Group I of the men's qualifying round in the National Ranking Table Tennis Championships (North Zone) at Yamuna Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

In another qualifier, UP's Parag Agarwal outplayed MR Rajiv of Kerala 3-1 to move into the next round of Group II. In Group IX, R Venkataraman of Tamil Nadu beat Subhjit Saha of (OFSPB) 3-0.

Meanwhile, in the sub-junior boys main round, B Arvind of Tamil Nadu beat Lalhunlua of PSPB-A 11-8, 7-11, 13-12, 11-6 to move into the second round.

Apollo International School won the trophy in the junior boys' section of the 28th S.S. Mota Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament after beating SS Mota Singh Model School, Paschim Vihar 2-0/ Phunbtog and Dhruv Gupta scored the goals for the winners.
