Acting on a petition filed by sports activist Rahul Mehra, the court has also asked the ministry to issue show-cause notice to the concerned NSFs asking them to explain their conduct and hold elections immediately. The Archery Federation of India (AAI), whose president is VK Malhotra, is among the NSFs which has postponed elections, scheduled on February 22 this year, to October.
In case the NSFs don't comply with the order, the court has asked the ministry to reconsider clearing the travel of the officials of those NSFs for the Olympics.
