The IOA is sending a delegation to the IOC headquarters in Lausanne to seek advice from the international body and apprise them of the fact that the IOA cannot defy the law of the land. "Hope the issue will be sorted," said Virendra Nanavati, a senior sports administrator.

Another IOA delegation is planning to meet the sports minister to discuss the national sports code, which has become the thorn of contention. The IOA has been directed by the Delhi High Court to incorporate the government guidelines (sports code) in the elections, failing which they national Olympic committee (NOC) will face contempt of court. On the other hand, the IOC is putting pressure on the IOA to go by the Olympic Charter, failing which the NOC will be suspended from the Olympic Movement.
