The sports ministry has sanctioned Rs 6.85 crore financial assistance for 22 sportspersons, considered medal prospects in the London Olympics and other tournaments.

Ronjan Sodhi has been given Rs 97.37 lakh, the highest, while others in the list are fellow marksmen Manavjit Singh Sandhu, Mansher Singh, The others are tennis players Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, Rohan Bopanna, Yuki Bhambri, Leander Paes Sanam Singh and Somdev Devvarman; athletes Krishna Poonia (discus), Vikas Gowda (shotput); Om Prakash Karhana (gymnastics) Ashish Kumar, R Patra, A Ranajan, I Hasan, D Karmarkar, B Aruna, R Divekar, R Jogalekar, Meenakshi.
