Australian Associated Press reported Wednesday that Kava Lumanuvao, 26, was banned from playing or attending any games in the southeast Australian state following a league tribunal hearing.

After being knocked down in a rough tackle which sparked a brawl in a semifinal between his Chaffey Titans and Mildura Tigers, Lumanuvao removed his jersey and got a knife from his car before returning to the field.

Police say Lumanuvao was disarmed by his coach and held back by Titans teammates.

Nobody was injured or threatened with the knife but the match was immediately stopped and awarded to the Tigers.
