The new identity embodies the Indian tricolor through an energetic and progressive form and is a manifestation of Indian business' achievements at a global level, the chamber said in a statement in New Delhi.

Ficci, one of the apex chambers of the Indian industry, said the logo is a youthful and dynamic symbol that reflects the chamber's trust and faith in India which is rising to a new trajectory.

"This faith and self-belief is now evident in the youth of the country as evidenced by the killer instinct displayed by our sports persons in the Commonwealth Games last week," Bindra said.

Chopra, Chairman of the Yashraj Films and head of Ficci Entertainment Committee, said that the younger generation is anxious for a change. The time has come for right-minded people to come together, show and lead the way forward.

The new identity, which was conceptualised and designed by Rediffusion Y and R, is an expression to take the chamber forward into the era of representing India as a global super power, the statement said.

Ficci President Rajan Bharti Mittal said, "The youth of India want to see India as a rising power... Ficci will be pivotal in enabling our vibrant nation in furthering its economic ambition."

Ficci, which was established in 1927, works closely with the government on policy issues through specialised services and global linkages.
