The autopsy report of Rahul Raj alias Prince, who was gunned down by the police in Mumbai on October 27 aboard a BEST bus, has not come as a surprise to his father Kundan Prasad Singh. “I knew it all along. It has just vindicated my claim that Rahul was killed in a fake encounter,” he said on Thursday.

“I have not seen the report as yet, but from whatever I have gathered through media, it is clear that the Mumbai police lied right from the outset. It is unfortunate that there is no difference between the style of functioning of Mumbai police and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS),” he added.

Singh said the day Mumbai police would provide concrete evidence that his son was an anti-social, he would hang himself. "I have been saying from day one that my son was captured by Mumbai police and then shot from point blank range. The forensic report of the JJ hospital, Mumbai, has said just that,” he added.

Singh feared that the forensic experts, who conducted the autopsy, could also face threat from MNS. “The doctors need to be applauded for the boldness they shown in bringing out the truth before the people despite pressure from all quarters,” he said, adding BG Chikalkar, who led the team, should be provided full security.

Singh said that he had no faith in the investigations by the Maharashtra authorities. “The Centre needs to act fast. It should not waste time and let more Rahuls fall to the MNS bullets in Maharashtra. Else, I will have no other option than knocking the doors of the Supreme Court. I want a judicial probe by sitting judge of Supreme court into the whole affair,” he added.

Rahul’s father said that the Mumbai police had not contacted him even since the incident. “I have not even got the seizure list of goods recovered from Rahul’s possession,” he added.
