A 23-year-old man in Kerala’s Ernakulam district has tested positive for the deadly brain-damaging Nipah disease, the state’s health minister KK Shailaja said on Monday, prompting the government to open fever clinics and isolation wards in three medical colleges in Kozhikode, Thrissur and Ernakulam. Doctors, who treated Nipah patients in Kozhikode last year, have been directed to move to Kochi. (PTI File)

Women in Delhi will be allowed free travel in public buses and metros, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday. The CM said officials had been given a week to come up with a detailed plan on implementing the proposal. “We’re making an effort to start this within 2-3 months.
