The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) separatist conglomerate headed by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for a shutdown against the killings of five militants and a civilian in Chowgam village of Kulgam district on Saturday. An army jawan shot dead two colleagues before committing suicide in Dharamshala cantonment in Himachal Pradesh in the wee hours on Monday. Catholic nuns in Kerala have decided to intensify their agitation unless Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mullakkal who is accused of raping a nun is arrested immediately.
