Sore throat? Try these effective home remedies
A scratchy or painful throat is common in monsoon season as there are a lot of viruses around. A sore throat can be really irritating as it makes swallowing or even speaking difficult. According to Ayurveda, a sore throat is caused due to Vata-Kapha imbalance. Dr Dixa Bhavsar, an Ayurveda expert, suggests some very effective home remedies for sore throat.

1. Turmeric and salt water gargles: Take 250-300 ml of water and add 1 tbsp of turmeric and half tbsp of salt and boil it for 5 minutes. Once it is warm enough to touch, gargle with it to boost your immunity. You can gargle 3-4 times a day. It'll make you feel less congested and soothe your throat like anything.(Pixabay)

2. Yastimadhu (licorice): You can take 1 tsp licorice powder and have it with honey twice a day or add in it warm water and gargle with it twice a day.(Pixabay)
