Residents informed the forest department officials about the incident, however, when they were unable to rescue the deer, officials from the Rajiv Gandhi Zoo in Katraj, reached the spot and rescued the deer by 10 am (shankar Narayan/HT PHOTO)

Forest officials said the, deer may have fallen into the well while escaping a dog attack.
