The Hadapsar police on Tuesday arrested a thirty-year-old man who posed as a police sub-inspector (PSI) and cheated several persons on the pretext of offering jobs. Acting on a tip-off, a team of plain-clothes policemen under the guidance of assistant police inspector(API) PM Lonare apprehended his 10 car bearing number MH 12 ET 3797 near Loni toll post and took him into custody. The accused brandished his fake identity card to the team and told them that he was a PSI. The team overpowered him and brought him to the police station.
At the police station, the accused revealed that he was married and has two sons. He said that he had completed mechanical engineering from Kohinoor Institute in 2014. According to police inspector Sunil Tambe, the accused has been booked under IPC 420, 170,467 and 471.
