Pune Mamata Gaikwad, standing committee chairman of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has passed her State secondary certificate (SSC) examination with 55 per cent on Friday.
Gaikwad, who has been handling responsibility of the standing committee is now planning to pursue her higher education dream. “I had filled up the SSC examination form earlier, but was later given the standing committee chairmanship, making it difficult to handle all these responsibilities together. Working as a corporator and standing committee chairman, I am left with very less time for my family and study.”
Gaikwad said that her political career did not stop her from pursuing her education dream.
She was elected as corporator from ward number 26, Pimple Nilakh, Vishalnagar and Venunagar area. “Although my family members always insisted I take my education forward, this year, I took their suggestion seriously. My family members played a crucial role in helping me with my study.”
With Mamata Gaikwad, another BJP corporator Kamal Gholap, elected from ward number 13, also cleared her SSC examination with 72 per per cent.
