Pune man murders friend over suspected affair with wife

The FIR lodged by Sinhagad police stated that the deceased who was well built and physically strong used to make fun of his friend Mandar Shinde. Dhone allegedly also claimed that he had an illicit affair with Shinde’s wife on a number of occasions.

Three persons were arrested for the murder of a 28-year-old friend on Monday. One of the accused, identified as Mandar Shinde, suspected the deceased of having an affair with his wife, which led to a sour friendship.

According to police officials, the body of the deceased was found dumped near Panshet. The deceased has been identified as Yogesh Haribhau Dhone, 28, while the other two accused arrested in the case have been identified as Ganesh Kawale and Bhushan Gaikwad. The murder took place near Panshet on Sunday, police said.

The FIR lodged by Sinhagad police stated that the deceased who was well built and physically strong used to make fun of his friend Mandar Shinde. Dhone allegedly also claimed that he had an illicit affair with Shinde’s wife on a number of occasions. The narration had angered Shinde and he was nursing hatred and revenge for the insults heaped on him by Dhone.

Matters get worse when Dhone told Shinde publicly that he was impotent and that the former had impregnated his wife. Following the insult, Shinde decided to murder Dhone with the help of two other friends. He invited Dhone for drinks at Khadakwasla and when Dhone was in an inebriated condition, the trio smashed his head with a huge stone and murdered him. A case of murder was lodged against the trio.

Sardar Patil, Sinhagad senior police inspector, said that Ganesh Kawale was the first to be arrested. Upon investigation, Kawale revealed the involvement of Shinde and Gaikwad. Accordingly, the duo was arrested. “Since the body was found under in an area the jurisdiction of Velha police, we have arrested the suspects and transferred the case of Velha police station for further investigation,” Patil said.
