Pune police arrest man for molesting 21-yr-old

The Cantonment police on Thursday arrested the person who allegedly molested a 21-year-old girl at MG road on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Ram Badrilal Dabodiya (43), a resident of Azadnagar in Wanowrie. The police did not reveal the name of the victim on her request.

Dabodiya was arrested after the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage was analysed by the investigating team, after the victim filed a complaint. Dabodiya confessed to the crime.(PICTURE FOR REPRESENTATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY)

According to the police, the incident took place near Hotel Aurora Towers on Tuesday afternoon. The victim was on her way to meet a friend when her phone ran out of battery. She requested an unidentified person for his phone to make a phone call. The accused extended his hand, which she took, with an intention of thanking him. The man allegedly kissed her hand and proceeded to grab her. A case under Indian Penal Code Sections 354 and 354 (a) was later lodged at the Cantonment police station.
