13 among four women arrested for flesh trade in Jalandhar

The police arrested 13 people, including four women on charges of immoral trafficking at New Geeta Colony of the city on Wednesday.

The police arrested 13 people, including four women on charges of immoral trafficking at New Geeta Colony of the city on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off that suspicious activities were taking place at a house in the locality, police conducted a raid and arrested the accused.

Addressing a press conference, police officials said the kingpin used to charge `1,000 from a customer. They said unidentified girls were also associated with the kingpin and they would be soon traced from their call details.

Accused have been identified as small-time local leader Dharminder Gill, serving armyman Mukesh Singh, Murari, Kapil, Dalip Ram, Sanjiv Kumar, Gagan, Amit and Raman Kumar Puran, besides four women.

A case under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act has been registered against them at police station number 5.
