20 boxes of illicit liquor seized, 2 held
The police here seized 20 boxes of country-made liquor from Lakhvir Singh Lakha and Manpreet Kaur Gaggi at the Khuddi Kalan checkpost on Saturday. The accused, both belonging to Jhaloor village, were coming from Sukhpura village in an Indica Vista car, when the police nabbed them.

The police here seized 20 boxes of country-made liquor from Lakhvir Singh Lakha and Manpreet Kaur Gaggi at the Khuddi Kalan checkpost on Saturday. The accused, both belonging to Jhaloor village, were coming from Sukhpura village in an Indica Vista car, when the police nabbed them.
Special Branch hawaldar Pritpal Singh said, "The accused are habitual offenders. On the basis of preliminary quizzing, it does not appear that the liquor was meant to be used during elections."
