Sources said it was unlikely that traffic services would be restored within next few days.

Haripurdhar received nearly 3-ft snow till Thursday night. The Renuka-Haripurdhar, Rajgarh-Nohradhar-Haripurdhar and Sangrah-Gattadhar-Shillai roads remained closed for traffic.

Power and drinking water supplies were also adversely affected in the remote areas of the district.

Although the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) had not suspended services, buses were plying only up to the snow-bound areas.
Villagers said the snowfall had broken a 15-year record, as Haripurdhar had witnessed this amount of snow 15 years ago.

Deputy commissioner Vikas Labroo said more than five roads in the Sangrah sub-division had been closed, and directions had been issued for immediate restoration of traffic on these routes.
