Sukhbir claimed that after the grand success of the Progressive Punjab Summit, the Punjab government had decided to organise this summit to "give a new push" to the agricultural sector, which had reached its "saturation point".

"Technical and agricultural experts and scientists from more than 20 countries will share the stage during the summit to chalk out the plan for the next green revolution in Punjab by adopting crop diversification," he added.

Terming the union interim rail budget "the last directionless budget of the UPA government", Sukhbir claimed that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) would be the "first party" to announce its candidates, as soon as the Election Commission announced the elections.

On the People's Party of Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party coalition for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, Sukhbir said, "Zero plus zero will always remain a zero, as both parties have no effect in the state, and even if they came together, it will not affect the prospects of SAD_BJP."

Sukhbir urged Akali Dal leaders and workers to "shun their differences to eliminate anti-Punjab forces in the Lok Sabha elections".

Announcements
Sukhbir announced that the state government had decided to release tubewell connections to all applicants till 2013 over the next six months. Terming the new atta-dal scheme as the "lifeline" of the poor in the high-inflation scenario, he claimed that the chief minister would formally launch the new scheme on March 1.

Earlier Sukhbir had laid down the foundation stone of the `40-crore Mansa-Talwandi Sabo Road project and the `25-crore PUDA colony, besides inaugurating the new building of a police station at Mansa.

Amarinder Singh 'the biggest liar': Sukhbir
Sukhbir, who was here to lay foundation stones of various projects and hold a sangat darshan programme in Phaphre Bhaike village, called Capt Amarinder Singh "the biggest liar", who had "failed to utter a single word about Operation Bluestar in the last thirty years".

Replying to a query about the statements of Amarinder and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa, Sukhbir alleged, "Both Capt and Bajwa are fighting only for the captaincy of the PPCC, by indulging in a numbers game in front of Rahul Gandhi."

Calling Amarinder "the biggest liar", Sukhbir said, "Why has he not uttered a single word about the whole incident in the last 30 years? If chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had entered any compromise on Operation Bluestar, why did the Congress put him behind bars for 17 years."
