Akal Takht lauds Anand Marriage Act recognition by Bangladesh

Stating that Sikhs in Bangladesh would now be able to get married as per their religious traditions, he added that the Indian government should also grant recognition to the Act to allow Sikhs to marry as per their religious rites.

In a separate statement, the Akal Takht jathedar, while stating that Italy had assured to resolve various issues affecting the Sikh community there, expressed anguish at the divisions between Sikh bodies in Italy. He added that efforts would be made to resolve these issues and unite the bodies at the earliest.
