ASI, home guard booked as drug accused flees from lock-up in Jalandhar

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and home guards jawan were booked after a drug accused fled from police custody on Tuesday evening.
A case under sections 223 (escaping from custody for negligence of a public servant) and 224 (obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) has been registered against ASI Sakatar Singh and Gurcharan Dass. Kanwaljeet Singh of Amritsar was arrested with 5 gm heroin on Monday.
He requested the two for using washroom.
They took him to the washroom but did not put handcuffs on him.
He pushed them and scaled wall of the police station and fled.
