The ceremony was attended by Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhuma, jathedar Jagjit Singh Gaba, Bhindranwale’s son Ishar Singh and representatives from local Sikh organisations. Hymns were sung and prayers offered on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Dhuma said the SGPC should give attention to developing a gallery at the Golden Temple carrying pictures of Sikh martyrs.

He said the SGPC had announced to construct such a gallery, but had not made any efforts towards this.

He said such galleries should come up in most gurdwaras.
